EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS - SUCCESSFUL SPORTSMEN FROM OUR NEIGHBORHOOD President of Palilula Municipality, Boban Dzunic, made a reception for successful sportsmen Branislav Milenkovic, best power-lifter in the Balkans and Marko Djordjevic kick boxer and judge in this sport and gave them the Appreciation notes to these two sportsmen for the results and contributions in improvement of sports and healthy lifestyles. Sport and development of physical culture has a right place in strategic activities of Palilula Municipality. Management of this Municipality, according to Dzunic words, listens and hears about the needs of their citizens and realizes successful cooperation with many organizations, educational institutions, associations and clubs. About the results on the recently organized sports competitions and cooperation of the sportsmen with Palilula Municipality, was all spoken at the press conference that was held in this City municipality in the presence of the Office for youth of Palilula Municipality representatives and members of Municipal Council.Branislav Milenkovic, champion of Europe in power-lifting -bench press raw - strength disciple, had a successful appearance at the IV Balkan championship. He in the competition with over 130 competitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia, as a representative of Serbian team, won the first place and golden medal in the category (seniors) of 23-29 of age up to 90 kilos in the discipline Bench press raw when he lifted up 180 kg. Branislav has had many wins so far as a champion in this sport, beside this Balkan championship 2011, he won State championship when in the same time he set the record in his category and in 2013 he became a European champion in power-lifting. The goal is to raise and maintain the maximum amount of weight, and the competition consists of three events: the bench press (signed on the flat bench), deep squat and dead pull or a word triathlon. In addition to the triathlon there is a special competition in which contestants compete only in the bench press. Winning the Balkan Championship Branislav directly qualify for participation in the European Championship in powerlifting, which will be held in England from 8 to 13 June 2015.
